Astral Phase Displacement explores a lot more than just variations on a doomy guitar riff. Though, if you like exploring variations on a doomy guitar riff, that base is covered. Not entirely hidden behind the promised riffing is an evolving drone, that seems to intensify and recede of its own volition. Overtones between the notes clash and beat, while the guitar pushes the limits of just how far a sound can be overdriven.
