Originally released as "Cycle One" on Sacred Oak's YouTube channel (SacredOakMpls) on March 3, 2020. The mix for this release has been polished very slightly to highlight the overtones and spectral oddities presented in this track. The new title refers to the composition of this piece: a canon, sort of.

"Loose Canon" takes inspiration from the work of Phill Niblock and György Ligeti. Four sustained guitars follow one another through a series of chromatic changes. This piece is structurally simple, but sonically complex.

Did we mention the overtones and spectral oddities? Listen for the ghosts!

Sacred Oak is releasing a DRONE to mark each new moon in 2022. The May 30th new moon is the sixth new moon this year.
